Aquatic Therapy Pool Rescue Award (Light)

Introduction

This course has become very popular within schools, hospitals and rehabilitation clinics.

ATPRA Light is a supervision and rescue qualification for therapists, teachers and support staff working on the poolside or in the water during activities such as, aquatic therapy or therapeutic exercise/play.

This course is suitable for learners who are involved in shallow pools where the rescuer will not be required to swim to perform a rescue, with water no deeper then the rescuers chest depth.

Your risk assessments must also have detailed separate First Aid provision. If you are unsure, then please contact us to discuss your training requiremnts.

  • Theory- Pool safety operating procedures, risk assessments and hazard groups.
  •  Practical- Water safety, Rescue techniques and Adult CPR (including use of an Automated external Defibrillator)
